A day of united action to free the conscience of parliamentarians

Monday the 15th of May, 2017, is a historic day. It is the day when, for the first time since 1994, the Constitutional Court will hear arguments as to why the President of our Republic, who was elected by Parliament through a secret ballot, must be removed by Parliament through a secret ballot.

This matter relates to the call made by the Freedom Movement and others for President Jacob Zuma, a man recognised even by members of his tripartite alliance as an incorrigible leader, to step down.

When the Constitutional Court hears this matter, the Freedom Movement will be there.

We call upon all South Africans who want Zuma to go to come to Constitution Hill to send a united and unequivocal massage that we want to free the consciences of all parliamentarians to vote secretly and sincerely to remove our rogue President.

Let us gather in our numbers at the Constitutional Court from 9h00 next Monday to show our resolve and to give support to further steps to hold President Zuma to account, and to ultimately remove him from office. We will be picketing and chanting outside the Court.

Members of the media are invited to be present along with the Freedom Movement and other progressive formations that will be joining hands with us.

Power to the People!
